You and your dog are our priority and we strive to help you in anyway that we can so feel free to contact us (with no obligation) for an informal chat.
* We require that all dogs have been given a clean bill of health where appropriate before commencing a behavioural modification assessment or programme as pain or illness can themselves cause behavioural changes.
We aim to provide a first class, professional service at a fair price that is clear at the outset with no hidden extras. No mileage is charged within a 20 mile radius. (see map) and then 50 pence per mile thereafter. We do not charge extra for weekend or emergency appointments.
Initial One to One Behavioural Consultation
There is no time limit on this, it takes as long as it takes! It is important that the dog is seen in its own environment to get a complete picture as they will often behave differently away from their home territory. During this time there will be forms to complete, assessments of the problem behaviour, hands on work, demonstrations and a dietary assessment if required.
A programme will be advised that is tailored to your individual requirements and I will stay until you are happy and confident in the implementation of it. It is important not to rush this crucial first appointment that can take anything up to 4 hours. Unlimited phone or internet backup is provided with this service for the first 4 weeks free of charge and the dietary assessment is included in the fee.
This is charged at a flat rate of £130 (plus mileage if applicable, see map below) you will receive a detailed written report with the suggested plan of action.
Follow up Consultation – if required
These are usually shorter than the initial consultation, typically up to 2 hours. During this session we work on areas that you feel that you need help in. This may mean a walk in the park to work on socialisation or working on other behaviours that may have surfaced since the initial consultation. Again phone and internet backup is part of this service as is a further report detailing progress, areas needing more work if applicable and the plan of action.
£70 (plus mileage if applicable)
Puppy or New/Pre dog assessments and introductions
These usually take up to 2 hours and can include assessment of the dog, hands on demonstrations if needed and advice on how to avoid the most common mistakes that new owners make. It gets your relationship with your new dog off to the right start with the right dog by assessing your lifestyle, energy levels and time commitments before a breed or dog is chosen. Follow up phone and email support is freely given as required during the first four weeks.
£80 (plus mileage if applicable)
Online and phone consultation
Although not always recommended as we are unable to assess the dog and situation ourselves, we understand that sometimes this is the only option available (for example one of our clients lives in the Scottish highlands) and can yield positive results. It is not suitable for every case so please enquire. Access to Skype or facetime is recommended.
Up to £40
Livestock socialisation consultations
Conducted at my own premises lasting up to an hour per session. More than one session may be required to modify the dogs behaviour. We work with horses, pigs and free range chickens using a positive only technique unless otherwise discussed and agreed with the owner as a means to modify dangerous behaviour only when other methods have failed.
It should be noted that prey drive is a natural dog behaviour and so an alternative activity designed to fulfill this instinct will be recommended alongside this therapy.
£50 (mileage not applicable)
